LEOFF 1 Alert — 4/21/11!!!!!!!
HB2097 — Merging Plan 1 and Plan 2 of the Law Enforcement Officers' and FireFighters' Retirement System — is in the House Ways and Means is a BAD BILL!

After Mark Curtis lobbyed today at the Capitol about House Bill 2097, he learned that Legislators were told that LEOFF I supports this bill, but the truth is LEOFF I does not support this bill. The Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee is Ross Hunter, and he does NOT SUPPORT this bill.

We need to continue lobbying to KILL THIS BILL until the legislative session is over. We continue to hear that legislators are well aware of the hard lobbying many of us are doing from all affected LEOFF 1 groups, and we must keep up the fight. Please continue to email and call your legislators!

We are in a time crunch to ask you to “Kill the Bill” of House Bill 2097 that would merge LEOFF1 into the LEOFF 2 Board and be managed by them.

LEOFF 1 people are strongly encouraged to call their legislators if any are on the House Ways and Means committee where the Bill is right now and may be addressed this week.
