CONCERNING SHB2688/ SB6447 “NO-CAP” 2006 LEGISLATIVE BILL

Today we have learned that Governor Christine Gregoire veto’d out the study group portion of the Bill as she signed the Bill, allowing for the cap removal for the few remaining LEOFF 1 people to earn more years of service credits.Thus, we survived a serious set of problems that may have hurt pensioners after the next legislative session. That study group would have stacked a deck against us on the subject of existing medical benefits for retired workers.We are all OK for now. This is a good day!
It would be good manners to write the Governor and thank her for her wisdom and good judgment on this matter affecting pensioners.
